James Hewitt’s Birthday Bash Official
Thursday, July 8th 2010.

*FROM SCARBOROUGH WITH LOVE is an ode to Scarborough, Ontario where artist James Hewitt grew up and currently resides. Hewitt attempts to portray Scarborough in an authentic way through a large scale installation, exposing the “Canadiana” unique to the appearance of the Victoria Village and Wexford neighborhoods.

The exhibit will transform the interior of Not Your Father’s Contemporary into an overcast day in Scarborough, depicting strip malls and struggling old businesses. While celebrating the beauty and nostalgia of old landmark buildings and signage, (slowly becoming obsolete) Hewitt juxtaposes this celebration by allowing the viewer to experience the melancholy of a run down industrial section of the borough.

Original Postcards will be produced and sold as a condensed version of the installation. And still for sale **** 1 for $2.99 and 5 for $10

The show runs from July 6th to July 12th, 2010.

James would like to extend a special thanks to Not Your Father’s Contemporary, Djs David Coppafeel, Resa, Rock n Roll Steve and Rock n Roll Phil.

HAPPY HAPPY BORN DAY JAMES from Not Your Father’s, call your mom and say thanks!

Thanks to *Emma Ladouceur* for the Panoramic photos!!!
